空调雪种是空调制冷剂的俗称，也称设备便携式冷媒。

1805年埃文斯（O.Evans)原创作地提出了在封闭循环中使用挥发性流体的思路，用以将水冷冻成冰。他描述了这种系统，在真空下将乙醚蒸发，并将蒸汽泵到水冷式换热器，冷凝后再次使用。1834年帕金斯第一次开发了蒸汽压缩制冷循环，并且获得了专利。在他所设计的蒸汽压缩制冷设备中使用二乙醚（乙基醚）作为雪种。
In 1805, O. Evans put forward the idea of using volatile fluid in closed cycle to freeze water into ice. He described the system, which evaporates the ether under vacuum, pumps the steam to a water-cooled heat exchanger, condenses it, and then uses it again. In 1834, Perkins first developed the steam compression refrigeration cycle, and obtained a patent. Diethyl ether (ethyl ether) is used as snow seed in the steam compression refrigeration equipment designed by him.
